Saraya Bandar Jissah, the company developing Oman`s newest Integrated Tourism Complex, has recently announced that DSA Architects International - Middle East, an internationally recognised architectural practice focused on high quality design and construction documentation delivery, has been awarded the site construction supervision consultancy services for their first two Beach Front five-star hotels in Bandar Jissah.

DSA Architects International will be responsible for the construction supervision consultancy services for two 5-star Hotels, totalling 318 rooms, and will be supported by Atkins - Oman for Engineering. Both projects are sited in Bandar Jissah, 11 kilometers Southeast of Muscat and 40 kilometers away from Muscat International Airport.

Saraya Bandar Jissah awarded DSA Architects International the contract after a detailed evaluation and selection process which included a number of major international competitors in the consultancy field. According to Saraya Bandar Jissah, DSA Architects International was ultimately selected because of their reputation for high-quality work and timely delivery.

In announcing the agreement, Sheikh Hamood Bin Sultan Al Hosni, CEO of Saraya Bandar Jissah noted, "Awarding this prestigious and unique project to DSA Architects International was done after careful consideration and evaluation of the project's need for a consultant committed to the successful and timely delivery of the contract. Considering the significance of the two Hotels and the scale of work required, we found DSA Architects International to be an ideal partner. We strongly believe they have the experience and capability to undertake the project, from the start to finish, and deliver quality results within the allocated timeframe."

Both 5-star beach front hotels, each offering their own unique identity, will be operated by the Jumeirah Group, the internationally-renowned luxury hotels and resorts operator. The first Hotel is set to be a Boutique 5 star Hotel occupying 61,000 Sqm and consisting of 112 rooms. Once completed, it will offer an array of world-class facilities and services that include an executive lounge, gym, business centre, lobby lounge, a specialty restaurant, prayer rooms as well as offices and other Back of house facilities.

The second hotel, the larger of the two, will occupy a plot area of 74,000 Sqm and a total of 206 rooms; 185 of which will be housed in the main hotel complex and the remaining 21 will be individual villas. The project will also include a beachfront ballroom for weddings and events, international cuisine restaurants and sports activities including a dive centre. Nestled against the sweeping mountainside, the hotel will also offer stunning elevated views onto the beach and sea from its raised entrance and reception.

Established in 1985, DSA Architects International have extensive experience in a variety of architectural disciplines with a specialisation in the hospitality and leisure industries; from intimate boutique hotels to large multifaceted resort and conference facilities. Many of the projects completed are of mixed use, including residential and commercial along with retail, industrial and high rise components. DSA's portfolio of expertise is comprehensive. They have delivered projects from initial concept design all the way through documentation to construction and completion.

DSA are also members of the Emirates Green Building Council (LEED accredited) in Dubai and the Green Building Council of South Africa (Green Star Accreditation). They therefore share a common vision with Saraya Bandar Jissah towards developing greener and more sustainable projects.

Saraya Bandar Jissah, which is being developed in partnership between Omran and Saraya Oman, is located on the outskirts of Muscat on a secluded beach surrounded by the Hajar Mountains. The destination is being built on 2.2mn sqm of land with an expansive beachfront and a high point of 250m above sea level. Saraya Bandar Jissah will be home to 398 exclusive residential units, spacious hilltop villas, stylish town-houses and luxury apartments - all with attractive waterfront and mountainside views. Scheduled for a grand opening in 2017, the two hotels form the major leisure components of Saraya Bandar Jissah, providing their guests with a luxurious and relaxing home away from the day-to-day rigours of life.
