Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail), the company overseeing the construction of much-anticipated integrated railways network, in association with Autodesk; the provider of consultations services and Building Information Models (BIM) for Qatar Rail projects, offers its Platinum Sponsorship to the third edition of the prestigious information and communication technology conference QITCOM 2014, organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (ictQATAR)  in Partnership with fischerAppelt. The event is taking place from May 26 to 28 at the Qatar National Convention Centre.

Qatar Rail's support to QITCOM also shows its commitment to the government's efforts to build a robust knowledge-based economy, in line with the country's National Vision 2030.

Qatar Rail is fast embracing latest technologies in support of its projects related to building of Doha Metro, Lusail Light Rail Transit and Long Distance Passenger and Freight Rail, which are ought to become the torchbearers in the country's economic development.

Al Muhannadi referred to the fact that ICT forms the nucleus of Qatar Rail's time-critical operations and is underpinned by the strategic plan to optimize resources, improve efficiency and enhance safety for an excellent sustainable mode of transport.

Al Muhannadi also expressed his happiness for sponsoring the conference which is a meeting point of global thoughts and local applications, emphasizing that this is an opportunity to learn and catch up with the fast changing technologies as well as to team up with potential service providers.
