12,000 Emirati job seekers to descend on career fair next month
Abu Dhabi, 24 January, 2016: Tawdheef, one of the country's leading recruitment fairs dedicated to UAE Nationals, will see thousands of Emirati job seekers pass through its halls when it opens February 1 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
Many of the UAE's leading organisations, both public and private, collectively have over 5000 jobs on offer during the three day career fair, covering industries such as Government, Defense/Safety & Security, Oil & Gas, Banking, Tourism, Hospitality and Telecoms.
As part of an the onsite initiative to help as many Emirati's as possible find a job suitable to them, Jobs@Tawdheef is an incentive to the exhibiting companies to try and offer as many positions within their organisations as possible. Part of the initiative includes an award which will be given during the process of the event to the top three companies who conducted the most interviews during the event.
Emirati student, Rashid Saeed Rashid, visited the first day of the show last year and commented; "This is my first time at the Tawdheef show and I am enjoying the experience. As a student in IT, I have gained from meeting organisations both in the private and public sectors hiring fresh graduates. I also like that bringing my CV wasn't necessary as most companies gave us the option of submitting our details on computers at their stands."
A number of leading UAE companies that jobseekers can expect to meet include Abu Dhabi Airports Company, National Bank of Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Terminals, Chalhoub Group, ADNOC and UAE Exchange among others.
"We had approximately 12,000 UAE National job-seekers attend Tawdheef in 2015, and the feedback that we received from employers at the show is that they wanted to take this unique opportunity to spend more quality time assessing Emirati job applicants on-site, so that they can make the best recruitment decisions in line with their Emiratisation policies." said Hayete Jemai, Exhibition Director of Tawdheef.
"We will also be running an in-depth seminar programme, which has been designed to educate students and job seekers on how to plan career choices in order to meet long-term personal objectives. We have ensured there is a strong focus on self-development and transferable skills, and ensured that both newcomers to the job market as well as seasoned employees looking for a new challenge will find attending the sessions beneficial." added Jemai.
The three-day event is held under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development and supported by Titanium Sponsor GHQ Armed Forces, Platinum Sponsors National Bank of Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Gold Sponsors Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, Department of Municipal Affairs, Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority, and Silver Sponsors Abu Dhabi Ports/Terminals all of which will have current job openings and long-term career opportunities to offer Emiratis.
