Abu Dhabi: NtechLab, one of the global leaders in video analytics, today announced its expansion into UAE and Saudi Arabia with both the opening of an Abu Dhabi based representative office and the launch of a groundbreaking new tool FindFace Multi.
The expansion into the Gulf region supports NtechLab's wider strategic business decision and global growth strategy campaign aimed at winning new markets such as Latin America and South Asia.
Andrei Telenkov, CEO, NtechLab, said: “The Gulf is a very important region to our business portfolio and one which will significantly expand our presence in the growing field of video analytics.”
FindFace Multi is able to detect faces and silhouettes of people and vehicles in real-time video streams. It features a wide range of functionality from multi-object video analytics, in which cameras can be configured for different types of objects, the ability for a single camera to process several different types of objects at once and unrivalled scalability.
The FindFace Multi algorithm was recently ranked as the best in the world following a competition run by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, US Department of Commerce. Measuring its detection abilities against industry benchmarks FindFace Multi improved on standard facial detection by a factor of two and masked facial detection by a factor of ten.
“The solution is of serious interest to our clients and potential customers in the region, because almost none of our competitors has a similar platform for multi-object video analytics,” Andrei Telenkov said.
Silhouette recognition allows FindFace Multi users to count and search, as well as track movements with high accuracy, the number of people moving through an environment as well as identifying individuals. The algorithm also takes into account markers such as height, color of clothes and accessories. The ability to accurately count numbers is an important feature for urban planning, shopping center developers and managers and other commercial areas.
The vehicle recognition function determines the body type, color, manufacturer, and model of a car, as well as searching by license plate. Even if license plates, or parts of the vehicle are not visible or obscured, the system can still detect it.
Using an intelligent criteria-based facial search, a user can detect and track ‘persons of interest’ in a split second and can accurately detecting faces even when they are partially covered with medical mask or clothes, wearing a beard or glasses.
Liana Meliksetyan, International Commercial Director, NtechLab, explained that the opening of the Abu Dhabi representative office is a reflection of the interest in the technology in the region. "Our clients range from smart cities and governments globally, who want to keep their cities safe to commercial businesses and clients who gain competitive benefit from the rich audience analytics our software provides," she said, adding, “We currently have partners in Oman, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, and we are looking for more partners in the region to jointly promote NtechLab’s products, that have demonstrated great effectiveness in the fields of security, retail, banking and other areas.”
