Following its successful participation in "Abu Dhabi Maritime Youth Summit" as a Diamond Sponsor, National Marine Dredging Company "NMDC" continues its efforts to hire the UAE nationals empowered with loyalty and long term commitment.
Abu Dhabi: The National Marine Dredging Company "NMDC" announced that hiring the UAE nationals is one of its ultimate priorities in all the company's sectors especially in engineering and technical fields. This announcement came during NMDC's participation in Tawdheef, the leading recruitment event for the UAE Nationals that is currently taking place in Abu Dhabi at the National Exhibition Centre from 1st to 3rd of February 2016.
Engineer Yasser Zaghlool, the CEO of NMDC clarified: "We have succeeded to position ourselves in the global marine dredging field. As a UAE based company, we were proud to work on the "Upper Zakum" project and to lead the "Challenge Consortium" to successfully accomplish on time the Suez Canal project, the largest marine dredging project since the demand for marine dredging is increasing dramatically. The marine dredging sector is becoming one of the pillars of maritime economy. We open new marine routes and canals, develop new ports and maintain existing ones, build artificial islands for oil and gas industry in addition to real estate waterfront projects".
Zaghlool added: "We ultimately aim to hire committed and loyal UAE caliber who will settle down in our company for long time. The marine dredging is one of the difficult fields due to its complicated technicalities and circumstances that'swhy we want to give them the opportunity to lead this field and develop their career and expertise."
NMDC's successful participation in Tawdheef is considered as another milestone in the company's journey after being a Diamond sponsor for "Abu Dhabi Maritime Youth Summit" that was organized by Tasneef Academy, the education arm of Emirates Classification Society "Tasneef". Moreover, NMDC announced that it will be participating next April 2016 in the UAE Career Exhibition that will be held in Dubai World Trade Centre, ensuring that NMDC is strategically determinant to attract the UAE nationals to be the core of its human capital.
NMDC is also willing to establish agreements with local universities to attract local interns to spend their training in the company as a step to hire them after graduation and make use of their training during their academic years.
"We are targeting to hire the maximum number of UAE candidates during Tawdheef, Abu Dhabi. Due to the rare experience we require in our industry, we invest a lot in human resources to train our employees to become familiar with our work. This investment should be dedicated to qualify the UAE nationals to build the local capacity in this country on the long run," Zaghlool added.
Zaghlool also clarified that as per the UAE long term strategy to establish a sustainable economy as an alternative to the petroleum based economy which will enhance the status of "Made in UAE". "We are exerting our definitive efforts in order to cope with the current progress and to strengthen a unique landmark that will redraw the world map for thousands of years."
