Abu Dhabi - NIMR Automotiveand Raytheon Company (RTN: NYSE) are collaborating to equip NIMR armored vehicles with TALON Laser Guided Rockets (LGR) and tube-launched, optically tracked, wireless-guided missiles. Using the Raytheon remote weapons station (RWS), each vehicle will carry 16 TALONs and two anti-tank missiles.
NIMR Automotive is a light-medium weight military vehicle manufacturer based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and part of the Emirates Defence Industries Company (EDIC), an integrated national defence services and manufacturing platform. NIMR is showcasing its new 2015 line-up of armoured and softskin vehicles at the IDEX trade show in Abu Dhabi.
The RWS enables TALON to be fired from both stationary and moving vehicles, while an elevated sensor/designator enables TALON and TOW to be fired from concealed positions ensuring lethality and survivability for the ground vehicle.
