Dubai Municipality has recently issued an administrative decision No 316 of 2012 on controlling concrete block factories and ready-mix units in the emirate of Dubai, in order to ensure its compliance with the highest international standards and specifications regarding the quality of manufacturing and import of concrete blocks ensuring the high standard of construction works in the emirate.

The buildings department in collaboration with the Dubai Central Laboratory has a big role in confirming the requirements of this decision through the direct coordination with the factories, contractors and consultants.
Eng. Yusuf Abdullah, Acting Director of Buildings Department said all such factories and units will be scrutinized by the DM officials at DCL and a conformation certificate will be granted to the companies after successful completion of specified requirements and will be listed in the record of approved factories.
'A manual on the instructions to apply the decision will be soon issued by both DCL and Building Department,' Yusuf said.
