JEDDAH, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, 19 May, 2009 - HP Middle East today announced its latest consumer notebook innovation with the launch of the slim and ultra-portable HP Pavilion dv2 Entertainment Notebook PC in Saudi Arabia.
At just under 1-inch thin and starting at 1.64 kilos(1), the stylish and compact dv2 is packed with future-proof features and capabilities that bring high-definition(2), discrete graphics to life - all at a surprisingly affordable price.
"We understand the discerning demands of people today, and their aspiration to own a notebook that complements their personality and lifestyle at a price they can afford," said Anil Kumar, General Manager, Personal Systems Group, HP Middle East. "The dv2 makes this dream a reality, and we believe this is the right product, at the right time, and the right price."
Lean and loaded
Available in a choice of unique Moonlight white or Espresso black HP Imprints, the dv2 packs a powerful punch. Equipped with breakthrough, energy efficient AMD Athlon™ Neo processor, ATI Radeon™ X1250 integrated graphics and optional ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 3410 discrete graphics, the dv2 brings true HD entertainment(2) to HP's new category of stylish notebook PCs.
"We are delighted to launch this product in Saudi Arabia today, demonstrating our commitment to the Arab market and giving the customer a choice. AMD understands that most consumers don't want to sacrifice functionality for portability and affordability. That is why AMD, in partnership with HP, has created a product that handsomely fills the gap between netbooks and ultraportables - the 'ultrathin,'" Said Dr. Gaith Kadir, General Manager, AMD Middle East, North Africa and Turkey.
True to HP's Pavilion range of entertainment notebook PCs, the dv2 features superior entertainment features including the integrated entertainment experience on the HP MediaSmart. Windows Vista® technology and a variety of high-capacity hard drive options up to 500 gigabytes (GB) also provides ample room for the largest digital libraries(4), while HP ProtectSmart technology gives consumers peace of mind that their hard drives are protected even while on-the-go.
The dv2 also supports optional built-in WWAN for wireless connectivity and includes an HP Webcam and integrated microphone, making it easier for consumers to stay in touch with friends and family.
Stylish, affordable luxury
Notebooks have become an extension of consumers' everyday lifestyle, and are as much a fashion statement as an entertainment and productivity tool.
Designed to make a style statement, the elegant modern lines of the chic and sleek notebook houses a 12.1-inch diagonal HP BrightView display in a lightweight but strong magnesium-alloy casing with a lustrous gloss finish. The new HP Imprint designs on the palm rest in Moonlight white and Espresso black are also a new feature unique to the HP Pavilion Entertainment Notebook PC product range.
The dv2 is ENERGY STAR® qualified and EPEAT™ Silver registered.
