25 March 2004
Dubai, UAE, March 25, 2004: Three of the biggest names in Arab pop music will take the stage in Dubai tomorrow night as the guest stars of the increasingly popular LG Digital Music Festival.
Rising star Nancy Ajram, a huge favourite following her latest hit ‘Akhasmak Ah’, and Katia Harb, a lady with more than 10 years of success in the music business to her name, will make their first LG Digital Music Festival appearance in the emirate before nearly 1,000 of their biggest fans.
Joining them on the bill at the Al Bustan Rotana Hotel is the Arab world’s number-one-selling artist Amro Diab, whose distinctive ‘Mediterranean’ music style is attracting a growing crossover audience internationally.
Diab’s album ‘Nour El Ain’ is the best-selling album ever released by an Arab artist, and its title track ‘Habibe’ has become a dance hit everywhere from India to South America.
At a press conference held today to welcome the three LG Digital Music Festival singers, Mr J.Y Lee, General Manager for Marketing, LG Electronics Middle East and Africa, said: “Over the years, LG has supported almost all of the leading Arab artists because it believes in bringing the highest quality entertainment to the largest possible audience in the local Arab community.”
Lee added: “LG’s support of tomorrow’s concert is a perfect partnership. There is a very real connection between the mass appeal of music and LG’s commitment as a digital innovator to enhancing the lives of as many people as possible around the world with the latest products.”
Some tickets are still left for tomorrow’s showcase but the organisers are already expecting another LG Digital Music Festival sell-out. The concert is the fourth LG Digital Music Festival to be staged in Dubai, and this year’s event will tour Cairo in May before heading to Morocco and Syria.
Thursday’s concert is Amro Diab’s third LG Digital Music Festival, the Egyptian legend having performed once before in Dubai and in Cairo.
Tickets to see Amro Diab, Nancy Ajram and Katia Harb on stage at the Al Bustan Rotana’s Rashidiya Ballroom are priced from Dhs450 for ‘Silver’ passes. ‘Gold’ tickets cost Dhs650 and VIP passes are Dhs950; doors open at 8:00pm and the music starts at 9:00pm.
For box office information call the Al Bustan Rotana Hotel or the hotline number 8004976. Tickets include welcome drinks, a buffet dinner, and free soft drinks.
