Business and IT professionals from companies such as Mannai Corporation, Qatar Gas and Qatar Central Bank were provided with engaging demonstrations on Microsoft SQL Server 2012's powerful new capabilities for mission-critical business systems and hybrid IT across traditional datacenters and public and private clouds.
Released earlier this month, Microsoft SQL Server 2012 helps address the challenges of increasing data volumes by rapidly turning data into actionable business insights by utilizing 'Big Data' techniques. As the world's most widely deployed data platform, SQL Server 2012 has already been deployed for production use by hundreds of global, industry-leading customers, such as Volvo Car Corp., Revlon, the HSN, Sanofi Pasteur, Klout and LG Chemical.
"We're here today to highlight SQL Server 2012's capabilities to the Business community in Qatar," said Naim Yazbeck, Country Manager, Microsoft Qatar. "Data is being generated faster than ever before, and organizations need a way to process and analyze all that data. The event also focused on the exciting new appliances from HP and Microsoft that provide rapid time to value for customers undertaking projects such as Business Intelligence, Data warehousing, system consolidation and cloud computing. Representatives from Microsoft's partner HP attended the event, including HP General Manager Bassam Zaki who highlighted the deep relationship between the two companies.

We're committed to investing in building Microsoft based hardware appliances and hope to continue our successful partnership moving forward," Said Zaki commenting on the event.
Customers choosing SQL Server 2012 enjoy the benefit of a rich hardware, appliance and software partner ecosystem that can create solutions for the most unique and demanding data management needs. SQL Server 2012 has also demonstrated new record-breaking performance benchmarks through partner- and Microsoft-led testing that underscores SQL Server's ability to scale across the enterprise.
While SQL Server 2012 has been released to manufacturing, customers should expect general availability to start from April 1st 2012.
