Shoring and excavation contract awarded to piling specialist Stromek Emirates Foundation
Memon Investments, a leading Dubai-based property developer and part of the international business conglomerate, the Memon Group of Companies, recently held a groundbreaking ceremony to commence the construction work on the AED 85 million Champions Tower II in Dubai Sports City (DSC). Present at the ceremony were top company officials, including Ahmed Shaikhani, Managing Director, Memon Investments; Don Leask, Project Development Manager, Dubai Sports City; Ahmed Sattar, Executive Director, Memon Investments; and Younan Youssef, Manager - Projects, Memon Investments.
The groundbreaking followed Memon Investments' recent awarding of shoring and excavation contract for Champions Tower II to Stromek Emirates Foundation (SEF), a subsidiary of M`sharie, the private equity arm of Dubai Investments. The piling company will be in charge of the important first phase of construction, which includes excavation, shoring and foundation work. SEF has committed to complete the first phase in record time as the contract for the construction of the tower is currently under tender. Champions Tower II's shoring and excavation project will be SEF's second venture with Memon Investments, as the company is also handling the foundation work on Champions Tower III.

Champions Tower II is a 13-storey tower with a total built-up area of 218,000 square feet, and offers a total of 174 apartments comprising 72 studios, 74 one-bedroom and 28 two-bedroom apartments, each with its own magnificent view of the lush greenery exuding a relaxing ambiance. The tower provides easy access to an 18-hole golf course, a cricket stadium and various sport-oriented academies, rugby and football pitches and a track and field stadium.
Since its establishment in Dubai in July 1994, SEF has been known in the industry to utilize breakthrough systems in piling, shoring and anchoring works such as Bentonite slurry suspended method, CFA method, steel soldier piles, sheet piles, contiguous piles and secant piles. Currently, SEF has more than 550 projects in its portfolio, including the Shore Line Apartment on the Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, Palace Tower and Donna Towers in Dubai Silicon Oasis and Al Faqeet in Fujairah.
