The Media One Hotel in Media City, Dubai is happy to announce their participation in Earth Hour on 27th March 2010, where they will be turning off all their electricity from 8:30 - 9:30 pm as part of the World Wildlife Fund's global movement in the call for action against climate change.
In commitment to Earth Hour, the Media One Hotel will be plunged into complete darkness for one hour in a bid to reduce their carbon footprint. Guests and staff of the hotel will be using only candle light to show solidarity and demonstrate their commitment to the cause.
As part of Media One's long term objective of making themselves more sustainable they are undertaking a number of initiatives to kick start their campaign by going paperless for the entire day and are using a live acoustic band to entertain hotel guests rather than their usual live DJ's. To support the World Wildlife Fund, the Media One Hotel will be donating a percentage of their profits of beverage sales to the Fund and have created a special cocktail that will commemorate and raise awareness for Earth Hour. In order to promote Earth Hour in Dubai, the Media One Hotel has announced it on its outdoor Jumbotron in a bid get as many residents involved.
