MEBAA launches its first 2013 Regional Forum to help promote and protect business aviation in Lebanon and connect the private aviation community with industry stakeholders via an exhibition organised by F&E.
14 May 2012
Dubai: The Middle East Business Aviation Association (MEBAA) has announced it will host the first of its 2013 regional forums in Beirut. The forums are part of its vision to bridge communication channels between local operators, suppliers, regulators and government. As such, the Beirut Forum will be held under the patronage of the Government of Lebanon via the involvement of the Ministry of Transportation and the country's General Civil Aviation Authority.
At the forum, to be held in April 2013, MEBAA will showcase its dedication towards its members by creating a platform to discuss and exhibit the latest advancements in safety, security, efficiency and corporate and civil acceptance of business aviation in the region. Held at the Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport, the forum will centre around an exhibition that allows its 175 members and the wider business aviation community to profile their services to industry customers.
The forum will also provide MEBAA and its members an opportunity to discuss and debate industry trends including an update on regional regulations and the grey market.
Speaking about business aviation in Lebanon, Mr. Ali Ahmed Al Naqbi, Founding Chairman of MEBAA said: "We have recognised the [business aviation] market in Lebanon is growing at a remarkable rate, dovetailing a private sector that contributes 75% towards GDP. As such business aviation is now considered to be the fourth largest market within the MENA region. With such growth must come continual dialogue with industry stakeholders ensuring that the interests of business aviation are promoted and protected. This Regional Forum will provide the perfect platform to discuss the emerging challenges and opportunities within the private aviation sector in Lebanon, Levant and its integration with the regional industry."
