Dubai, June 25th, 2011- MBC Group launched its new high-definition (HD) broadcasting system covering its bouquet of channels, in a joint ceremony with "Technosat", the partner company supplying the set up boxes. The new high definition (HD) television broadcasting offers clear dimension, and the highest amount of accuracy and clarity, four times more than its current TV offering in Standard Definition (SD).

At the beginning of the launch event, Mazen Hayek, official spokesman and Group Director of Public Relations and Commercial at MBC Group welcomed the audience and explained the importance of this move to millions of MBC viewers, as well as to partners, advertisers, and producers, noting that it also reflects the Group's commitment to provide the latest technology, with the best television content, in "quantity and quality and performance". Hayek also praised the importance of MBC's partnership with "Technosat" which supplies "HD" receivers for a high-resolution transmission system.

From his part, Mohammed Farrag, General Manager of "Technosat", emphasized the leadership of MBC channels, and its ability to anticipate the needs of viewers, to meet their tastes, and provide the latest broadcast technologies and image display. Farrag also stressed that distributors of Technosat across all Arab countries are now working day and night to provide the greatest possible number of HD receivers, as soon as possible, in anticipation of increased demand.

It is worth noting that MBC's system of High Definition (HD) TV broadcasting, will be available as of the 1st of July.
