Chinese Acrobatic Show and Chinese Adventure Show present amazing antics in tune with the theme of the DOHMS-organised week
The Adventure Surprises week organised by Department of Health and Medical Services (DOHMS) took off to a flying start yesterday (Thursday) with an electrifying performance by Chinese acrobats who performed amidst VIPs, dignitaries, members of the media and a spellbound crowd at the Mall of the Emirates. The show that entailed traditional Chinese acrobatics will continue at other venues throughout the week. All those who could not attend the opening ceremony can watch these Chinese acrobats perform Acrobatic Shows and Adventure Shows at different venues throughout the theme week.
A group of 12 to 14 highly skilled Chinese acrobats from one of the oldest schools of performing arts would be presenting some rare antics at Al Ghurair City Friday evening between 6pm and 10pm as part of the touring Chinese Acrobatic Show. The group has won international acclaim for its stupefying acts and performs in the Middle East for the very first time. Dressed in traditional costumes the performers will present a variety of juggling tricks using different props. Feet juggling, a popular form of juggling will be presented for the first time for DSS visitors. The jugglers will juggle wooden tables and chairs with their feet. They will also form a human pyramid which is sure to amaze everybody watching the show.
The Chinese Acrobatic Show will also take place at Deira City Centre on July 15, BurJuman Centre on July 16, Al Reef Mall on July 17, Lamcy Plaza on July 18, Ibn Battuta Mall on July 19 in three half hour shows at 6pm, 7.30pm and 9pm.
The second group of performers from China will present a series of shows at different venues as part of the Chinese Adventure Show. Three shows take of Chinese Adventure take place at Lamcy Plaza today at 6pm, 7.30pm and 9pm. It will continue at Al Ghurair City on July 15, Ibn Battuta Mall on July 16, BurJuman on July 17, Al Reef Mall on July 18 and Mall of the Emirates on July 19 between 6pm to 6.30 pm, 7.30 pm to 8pm and 9pm to 9.30pm.
All those looking forward to some adventurous fun should mark these dates in their diaries as it's a rare opportunity to watch world-class acrobats, jugglers and balancers stage their masterful exploits.
The 10-week long DSS, which opened with the Ice Surprises week on June 21, celebrated the Art Surprises week, Food Surprises and continues with the Adventure Surprises, Cartoon Surprises, Nature Surprises, Knowledge Surprises, Flower Surprises, Heritage Surprises, and concludes with Back-2-School Surprises on September 1.
