This month marks the beginning of the 10 year anniversary of Maadi City Centre and Alexandria City Centre shopping malls in Egypt. Both properties, owned, developed and managed by Majid Al Futtaim Properties, have been leading the retail sector in Egypt since 2002. The month-long celebration will be marked by competitions and prizes for shoppers.
Located in Egypt's most vibrant governorates - Cairo and Alexandria - Maadi and Alexandria City Centre's offer a wide variety of dining, shopping and entertainment outlets under one roof. With over 240 local and international retailers across both malls, visitors have a wide selection of brands available to accommodate their needs. The diversity and quality of retailers has been tailored to match the unique requirements of Egyptian consumer marked by a steady and consistent increase in sales throughout the first 10 years of operation. Sales increase amounted to 44% in the first half on 2012 alone.

In celebration of the 10 year anniversary, both malls have planned massive promotional campaigns in collaboration with retailers to offer visitors a chance to win cash prizes every week. Over the month of January, more than 80 lucky shoppers will win a total of EGP 100,000 cash prizes. For a chance to win, customers at Maadi City Centre and Alexandria City Centre simply have to spend a minimum of EGP 500 and EGP 400, respectively, in one day at the mall. Shoppers then take their receipts to the information desk to receive a coupon, complete the form and enter the raffle draw.
Majid Al Futtaim Properties opened its first mall, Maadi City Centre in Egypt in 2002. The mall offers 30,321 square metres of GLA and has 83 retailers. The company then opened Alexandria City Centre in 2003, which accommodates 161 retailers in over 61,774 square metres of GLA. Combined, the malls provide 3,500 job opportunities across the country with both malls hosting more than 25 million visitors each year.
