Amman, Jordan - LSS Catering Services, formed out of a joint venture between public (Jordan Armed Forces) and private entrepreneurs (ZAD) entities and Jordan's largest industrial food caterer, announced the signing of an agreement with Amman Academy to exclusively provide the Academy with ready to serve meals for KG and Grade 1 students entitled "e-meals for kids". This service is one of its kind in the Middle East and its low-cost and time saving makes it an extraordinarily unique service.

The new "e-meals for kids" service will enable parents of the students to order meals from a variety of choices through an on-line service by logging onto the Amman Academy website, choosing the meal and delivery day, and LSS will then deliver all meals to students accordingly. The service is also available through the Academy administration. Trials have looked at the acceptability of the menus designed by LSS nutrition consultant, Lana Kalimat, as well as creative techniques with packaging and design to encourage 'poor eaters' to eat regularly and healthily.

"Our aim through "e-meals for kids" is to offer students, and their parents, at Amman Academy a time saving mechanism that is also providing a healthy nutritious and balanced diet, as we believe in the importance of healthy food for building and consolidating a more energetic learning environment. Essentially, we take the hassle out of feeding your child by doing it for you - it only takes a click of a button and it is done. No more will parents have to struggle against the clock first thing in the morning, in balancing getting their kids to school with also making sure they are eating healthy during the day," said Rodney Woolliscroft, LSS Catering Services.

Commenting on the initiative and service, Shireen Khudari, spokesperson for Amman Academy said, "We are pleased to be signing this agreement with LSS Catering Services. LSS services will add to the high level of benefits we offer our students and parents with healthy meals, thereby creating a dynamic and motivating environment. The Academy's staff were very impressed by the quality of standards of LSS tasty dishes and the time saving benefits they bring to students, parents and teachers alike."

Lana Kalimat, nutrition consultant to LSS said, "Our aim is to give students balanced meals that enable them to establish good eating habits, and expose them to healthier food choices, that provide them with their basic daily needs and hence ensure maximum growth to ensure every student has the best opportunity to make the best of their abilities at school."

"e-meals for kids" was launched on 1st September through an exclusive arrangement with Amman Academy and will be extended to other schools in due course.
