Beirut, Lebanon, May 27 2011- Graduates of The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), one of the widely recognizable universities in the world, officially launched their Lebanese Alumni Association in Le Grey on the 26th of May 2011 in the presence of her Excellency Ms. Francis Gay, the British ambassador, former member of parliament Mr. Mosbah Ahdab and Lebanese sportsman Maxim Chaya.

The newly founded Alumni Association encourages LSE graduates in Lebanon to become active members in society by promoting LSE's education to the local community and by introducing the LSE education standard to well connected employers in leading businesses, social communities and cultural events. In addition, the launch offered members the opportunity to engage with one another in order to build and strengthen their professional and social networking connections.

Marina Chamma, president of the Alumni, said: "Our aim is to continuously provide the LSE community with networking opportunities and pave the way for future endeavors that may assist and aid in their development. We hope that with the launch of the Lebanese Alumni Association we can encourage LSE alumni to join efforts in creating a brighter future for graduates in Lebanon".

There are over 200 Lebanese LSE graduates present in Lebanon and abroad, and in the future the Alumni Association plans to organize several conferences focusing on the issues related to the development of the Association as well as to promote academic and cultural exchange between the UK and Lebanon.
