Abu Dhabi-UAE: 13 May 2012 - Holger Amann, Director of Sales and Service from Liebherr, one of the world's leaders in manufacturing state-of-the-art construction machinery and equipment, recently participated in an interview with INTERMAT Middle East, in preparation for the company's participation at the exhibition.

Currently, the Middle East's construction industry has shown signs of stability. A new report by Alpen Capital states that the real estate market of the UAE, particularly Dubai, has been positively affected by the recent "Arab Spring".

Mr. Amann from Liebherr, said: "Compared to 2009 and 2010, the economy has started to recover at the end of 2011. 2012 is very likely going to be a record year for our Middle East operation."

Several large investments have been made in the construction industry within the region that include the: US$28 bn. Saadiyat Island in UAE; US$11 bn. Etihad Rail project in UAE; US$91 bn. 2022 FIFA World Cup project in Qatar; US$95 bn. Madinat al Hareer in Kuwait; US$22.8 bn. Rail network system in Qatar; and many more.

Mr. Amann further continued to state that business looks rather stable and promising during 2013 and 2014.

Countries in the Middle East have expressed their plans for a greener environment. Governments from across the region have placed strict regulations in constructing more sustainable buildings and infrastructure whilst using machines that are efficient, significantly reducing emissions.

Mr. Amann addressed this challenge of developing new construction machinery and products stating that their main focus is to satisfy the needs and requirements of the different regions and countries with regards to design, technology, exhaust emissions and more.

On being asked if Liebherr was able to secure contracts at the inaugural INTERMAT Middle East, Mr. Amann replied: "We succeeded in two sales of mobile cranes to new customers in Abu Dhabi and Oman; customers that we have not known before. The two mobile cranes together had a volume of one million Euros."

Liebherr will be returning again to participate in second annual INTERMAT Middle East that is organized by Comexposium and its partner Clarion Events Middle East.

Mr. Amann continued: "This year we are going to exhibit a 100 ton telescopic crawler crane and a 5-axle mobile crane since those are the most popular types in the region. Both models are not new to the market, but have a very good reputation. We will further exhibit 3 types of earthmoving equipment and maybe a mobile tower crane."

INTERMAT Middle East 2012 will take place from 8 - 10 October 2012 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) in Abu Dhabi, UAE. 250 exhibitors and over 7,000 visitors are expected.

The second annual construction exhibition will have an international summit, which attracts a prestigious group of construction experts and industry leaders from both the public and private sectors. There is also a three-day conference focusing on major infrastructure projects as well as municipal workshops to discuss latest innovations and build collaborative relationships.

In addition, INTERMAT Middle East will facilitate a buyers programme that will drive investment into infrastructure, roads and transport and master urban planning by creating business opportunities between regional and international stakeholders whilst helping to facilitate public and private partnerships.
