Digital leader announces new DVD recorder offering increased performance, competitive price and ease of use

Dubai, October 6, 2004 - In the world of DVD recorder, state of the art technology is making huge advances and LG's DVD recorder, the new DR4812W, is at the vanguard of it all.

Global and regional digital leader LG Electronics has unveiled the new LG DR4812W DVD recorder in the Middle East. The DVD recorder has a slim design with multi-format recording making digital video creation extremely simple, even for first-time users. The model has connections for component, digital and video. The bottom-mirrored section of the DR4812W attaches magnetically and hides a variety of additional buttons, ideal for attaching digital cameras and video game consoles.

The software lets users transfer video footage to their PCs to create professional-quality videos and presentations on DVD. With a single user interface for video capturing, authoring and editing, only a few steps are needed to create a digital video from start to finish.

"The new LG DVD recorder offers the customer endless possibilities when it comes to creating a personal audio and video collection. It is compatible with all DVD recordable media and users do not have to worry about -RW media or +RW media," said P C Choi, President, LG Electronics Gulf FZE.

The model is Macrovision enabled and has been commended for its capability, ease of use with multiple media formats and competitive prices.

"An added plus of the LG DR4812W is its instant skip button, which steps forward in a recording exactly 15 seconds. Use that facility a few times and you won't even notice any ad breaks in recorded TV broadcasts," said Choi.

The DR4812W DVD recorder is capable of recording TV shows or movies at different quality settings and features a hard disc capacity of 80 GB.

"No longer is DVD recording considered the preserve of digital video enthusiasts and professionals," added Choi. "The increase in sales of digital camcorders and DVD players has fueled interest in digital video and with this new DVD writer, LG is making DVD recording simple and affordable."
