• The company intends to leverage its involvement in the popular English Premier League to enhance brand recognition and solidify its position as a leading global tire manufacturer.

Amman, Jordan: Kumho Tire has announced a long-term extension to its agreement with Tottenham Hotspur, a well-known Club in the English Premier League (EPL) as its Official Tyre Partner. This new agreement between the Club and the Korean tire brand continues a partnership which began in 2016.

Founded in 1882, the North-London based soccer powerhouse has more than 314 official supporters’ clubs worldwide. Its popularity with fans globally, and particularly amongst Korean fans has grown significantly since 2015 when Son Heung-min signed for the Club. The Premier League Club has now become a household name even for non-soccer fans in Korea.

Kumho and Tottenham Hotspur have enjoyed a successful relationship since 2016 and the recently renewed agreement will see the brand continue to have a strong presence on the LED perimeter advertising for the Club’s matches at the iconic Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The brand received particularly high levels of exposure in the 2019/20 season when Son Heung-min scored his Puskas Award winning goal against Burnley with the Kumho brand prominently displayed on the advertising boards.

In addition to the stadium branding, Kumho will continue to present the Club’s popular match day player mascot programme, which was replaced with an award-winning digital offering for young fans during the Covid-19 pandemic. Tottenham Hotspur will also support Kumho Tire’s Corporate Social Responsibility programmes by creating player related content that focuses on tyre safety, as well as other co-created digital campaigns to drive fan engagement. High profile international players such as Hugo Lloris, Lucas Moura and Giovani Lo Celso have participated in Kumho content to help drive awareness of the brand amongst Tottenham Hotspur fans.

“Kumho is thrilled to continue its partnership with Tottenham Hotspur, a renowned club in the world-famous English Premier League,” said Tony Gangseung Lee, senior vice president of global marketing at Kumho Tire, “We will use this extended partnership to enhance our brand recognition in global markets including the United Kingdom and aggressively engage in efforts to turn our business into a premium brand.”
