KODAK EASYSHARE-ONE, WiFi-Enabled EASYSHARE Printer Dock Plus Add to Growing Kodak Portfolio of Wireless Products and Services

Dubai, UAE -- Building on its leadership role in making digital photography easy, Kodak recently highlighted a range of new wireless-enabled digital photography products and services at the 2005 International Consumer Electronics Show, bringing to life the ability to share pictures whenever and wherever people wish.

Kodak added to its growing portfolio of wireless products and services with the unveiling of EASYSHARE-ONE (US$599), the first WiFi digital camera of its kind that allows consumers to carry and instantly share up to 1,500 digital pictures with friends across the table, or across the globe.

The same KODAK Wi-Fi card that provides EASYSHARE One with wireless capabilities can now also be used with the recently introduced EASYSHARE Printer Dock Plus. This frees the Printer Dock Plus to communicate with computers on the wireless home network without being in the same room, whether for snapshot picture printing from a PC's collection or rapid transfer of digital images from a docked camera to a computer's hard drive.

Kodak's popular EASYSHARE software, which is installed on 15 million computers worldwide, is also being made WiFi compatible for more seamless picture transfer and synchronization.

Kodak leverages a wide range of wireless standards, such as BLUETOOTH technology, infrared, WiFi and cellular networks, to make it easy for people to view, share and print pictures instantly without the use of cords, cables or even computers -- anytime, anywhere.

"The opportunities that wireless imaging affords are endless; not only does it enable instant sharing to keep people connected, but more importantly, it provides better ways to share an irreplaceable form of social currency, the picture," said Arif Khan, Kodak's MENA Area Manager. He added: "Kodak is constantly challenging convention and finding innovative, compelling ways to put the emotional power of pictures into any and every environment, and using wireless technology to break new ground in consumer ease of use. Ultimately, wireless is so much more than just the ability to transfer, share and print without a cord."

Kodak introduced its first generation of wireless products and services in 2003, leveraging partnerships with leading mobile network carriers such as Cingular and Verizon, to offer KODAK Mobile Service. Subscribers have anytime, anywhere access to all of their digital photos and phone-captured video, using their handsets or Web-connected computers. Later that year, people began beaming images captured with their mobile phone cameras to KODAK Picture Maker kiosks via infrared and BLUETOOTH wireless transfer technologies, then printing real KODAK pictures in seconds.

In 2004, Kodak introduced the KODAK EASYSHARE Printer Dock Plus, allowing wireless printing at home from a variety of mobile phone cameras, PDAs, and other short-range wireless-enabled devices. KODAK Mobile Service continued to expand in terms of services such as on-demand phone wallpaper, as well as reach with the launch of the service across Europe and in Australia.

Connecting with Market Leaders
Kodak is working with leading mobile carriers and handset manufacturers across the globe to develop and market photo-sharing applications over cellular networks. Whether printing images captured with a mobile phone camera or instantly sharing a picture thanks to a WiFi hotspot, Kodak continues to explore opportunities with market leaders such as Cingular Wireless, Verizon Wireless, AT&T Wireless, and Nokia.
