Dubai, UAE: The onset of social media and the need to look picture perfect had started the trend of pursuing the perfect body. But it is not the easiest thing to achieve and maintain. That usually involves a generous combination of genetics and a healthy lifestyle among other things.
Why Body Contouring?
With more people now battling weight gain across the globe - a situation that’s driven by the pandemic, key players in the skincare industry have noticed a growing demand for body contouring procedures as a faster means of sculpting the body and losing the much-dreaded pockets of stubborn fat.
Popularly known as body sculpting, body contouring solutions are non-surgical fat-removal, skin tightening and muscle building procedures that help tackle imperfections like stubborn fat, skin laxity and muscle improvement
Google trends reveal that interest in body contouring over the last three years has grown by almost 60 percent worldwide. According to Grand View Research, global body contouring devices market size is expected to reach USD 4.5 billion by 2025 at a 13.8% CAGR over the forecast period. The global body contouring procedures market size, on the other hand, is expected to value USD 9.3 billion by 2025, expanding at a CAGR of 7.7% from 2018 to 2025.
According to leading skincare experts, Kaya Skin Clinic Middle East, there has been a visible shift, especially in the region, towards these body contouring procedures with the demand for a well-contoured body growing rapidly.
“Since the advent of the pandemic, the subsequent hybrid work model, and more online meet-ups; most people have experienced significant weight gain. As life is returning to a new normal and with more people getting back to their social selves, there has been a growing demand for body contouring procedures as a trusted method of shedding excess fat and sculpting those muscles to regain their well-contoured body,” said Latika Vieira, Head of Marketing, Kaya Skin Clinic ME.
A Lifestyle Trend in UAE
As a trend-setting fashion and lifestyle hub, United Arab Emirates (UAE) residents, both men and women, are always pushing the boundaries in an effort to look and feel totally in shape. This comes against the backdrop of a survey released by YouGov that 49 per cent of the UAE residents gained weight since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
And as a result, it’s steadily emerging that the pandemic has largely accelerated the need for people to look and feel fit despite the underlying challenges. But while normal exercising often offers great benefits, it doesn’t target pockets of stubborn fat, which can only be targeted by these body contouring technologies.
“Here in the UAE, as per a consumer study amongst Kaya Skin Clinics’ clientele, over 30 percent chose fat reduction and body contouring as their primary aesthetic procedure, ahead of other concerns like botox, or hair – which was quite interesting. This shows a growing demand for such procedures,” added Latika.
Body contouring technologies
Over the years, the beauty and skincare sector has continued to make significant strides in innovating and improving body contouring procedures.
“To provide the best results to clients, at Kaya our experienced dermatologists examine and determine the ideal combination of the technology and treatments to be used. While some clients are best suited for fat reduction solution, others may need muscle building or skin tightening solutions to treat skin laxity or cellulite,” noted Latika.
Adding to its array of body contouring options, Kaya Skin Clinic recently launched for the first time in the region, a new body contouring technology, powered by TruSculpt Flex - a customizable, non-surgical and non-invasive body contouring technique that works on one’s muscles, delivering results akin to 50,000 crunches, twists or squats in just 45 minutes. This technology is powered by a patented EMS technology of Cutera, a word class aesthetic and cosmetic devices company.
