Over the past several weeks, the Jordanian government has made admirable efforts against the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) to ensure the health and safety of its citizens. However, many Jordanians are facing tough challenges in light of the situation. A majority of service industry workers have lost their main source of income, while others such as the elderly, struggle to get the necessities they need due to vehicle restrictions which force them to walk to their local market.
As a solution to these problems, the minds behind the Kader app, an online hiring platform geared towards casual jobs, have created a unique initiative based on a simple premise: to connect those in need of essential goods or services with those who want to earn an income while helping those in need.
Delivering Essential Goods
With the current movement restrictions, people commute on-foot to their neighbouring convenience stores to pick up essentials like groceries and cleaning supplies; for some, this is an inconvenience at worst, but for many of the elderly and disabled population, it has made getting basic needs difficult and poses a potential risk to their health.
Through the #3al_Mashi Initiative, people who have difficulty walking to the store, or just prefer to stay indoors to protect their health, can get all their essential items delivered to their door by a nearby warrior, while staying safe inside.
Providing Maintenance Services
The #3al_Mashi Initiative also connects those in need of maintenance services or home repairs with qualified servicemen. Kader has partnered with Profix, a leading professional maintenance company to provide each worker with essential personal protective equipment such as masks, gloves, sanitary shoe covers and hygiene to ensure the health and safety of its people and the customers they serve.
How it Works
To request a service, all you need to do is visit request.kaderapp.com and submit a request, and we will connect you with the nearest Warrior in no time.
Interested in joining the Warrior team? Simply download the Kader app from the Apple Store or Google Play Store, create your profile in minutes, pin your location and apply to the job titled “Corona.”
