Dubai - India's premium fashion institute, JD Institute of Fashion Technology, has recently opened its first institute in the Middle Eastern fashion hub of Dubai.
With the fashion Industry in Dubai coming of age, the city was the natural choice to provide aspiring designers and fashion professionals with an opportunity to hone their skills, said R. C. Dalal, Executive Director for JD India. "We are extremely happy to mark our first overseas foray by opening our institute in Dubai. The JD Institute was born with the objective of developing fashion technology and promoting fashion designers at a global level," he said.
JD focuses on fashion from two directions, presenting the forces that influence fashion on one hand, and explaining the principles by which these forces can be effectively used on the other.
Centrally located in Karama, the institute offers a wide range of diploma courses including: Fashion & Design, Jewellery Design, Interior Design, Garment Manufacturing Technology, Fabric Design, CAD/CAM, Fashion Merchandising, Fashion Illustration, Visual Merchandising, Garment Export Management, Fashion Merchandising and Fashion Photography. Students will have the option of choosing the comprehensive Fashion and Design course for one year or specialization courses of a shorter duration. The course timings have been structured to accommodate working professionals as well.
