GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® at WAFI!

Dubai: GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® is at WAFI and visitors can practice, break real records in real time and get the chance to be ‘OFFICIALLY AMAZING’®. Until 23 November, visitors can enjoy all the action, visit the educational galleries and break records.

GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® have been creating record-breaking moments since 1955 and visitors will have the chance to view 11 galleries across the site with each gallery featuring unique stories. Be it the bizarre realities from the Human Body or the uncanny tales from the Animal Kingdom, people will be stunned with what they discover as they stroll through these galleries.

Every Friday and Saturday, WAFI hosts fun activities in the interactive challenge area from 3pm – 9pm. The live challenge features different records to be attempted every week and will be open for practice during the weekdays; customers can rank-up the leader board and have the chance to be crowned as a new record holder by a GWR® Adjudicator. From 4pm – 8pm, Wafi Restaurants is making the weekend extra-delicious with their mocktail flavoured sorbets made live with liquid nitrogen!

“After a few successful events and activations that focus on edutainment, GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® was the obvious choice for the next big event. We have shifted our focus to creating more lifestyle experiences for the entire family that brings them to one destination to spend their leisure time with one another,” said Katherine Revett, Head of Central Marketing at WAFI.

WAFI is attempting to break official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® titles during this time and is calling out to the public to be a part of this momentum. “We are attempting to break two records during this period. One of these record-breaking activities is the largest ‘colour by numbers’ mural which features the Dubai skyline as well as marking the Year of Tolerance. With over 2,000 participants already, we are gratified by all the support and are close to approaching the finish line.  We welcome all visitors to join us in attempting to break this record just by picking up a pencil. Our second record breaking attempt will be in collaboration with our all-time favourite Halloween Bash”, she added.

WAFI’s Halloween Extravaganza will be happening from 31 October – 2 November. Get dressed up for this year’s costume competition for a chance to win cash prizes as well as join the trick or treating across the 11 galleries at GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® at WAFI. On 31st October, WAFI will be attempting to break a record for ‘the most people dressed as mummies in 3 minutes’ in collaboration with the children of Dubai British School, Jumeirah Park and visitors are invited to come watch this spectacle. Mark your calendars for the 1st and 2nd November, because this year’s party is going to be loaded with activities, photo opportunities and a whole lot of fun. On Friday, there will be a Halloween Brunch at Carter’s from 12 – 3pm followed by the Halloween Bash which will take place from 3pm - 7pm on both Friday and Saturday, where children can enjoy arts & crafts and face painting as well as entering the costume competition at 5.30pm.

About Guinness World Records

What’s the fastest game bird in Europe? This was the question that inspired the founding of Guinness World Records back in 1955. Starting with a single book published from a room above a gym, GWR has grown to become a global multi-media brand, with offices in London, New York, Miami, Beijing, Tokyo and Dubai. Today, we deliver world-class content, not just through Books, but via TV shows, Social Media and Live Events. Our in-house consultancy works closely with brands and businesses around the world to harness the power of record-breaking and deliver award-winning campaigns and business solutions. Our ultimate purpose is to inspire people - individuals, families, schools, groups, companies, communities and even entire countries – to read about, watch, listen to and participate in record-breaking. To join this record-breaking community – and find out the answer to that original question – visit guinnessworldrecords.com .
