The Italian Turin Hotels International (THI) group will make their debut appearance at the forthcoming Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in a bid to attract the Middle East market to their properties.
They are particularly keen to increase the sale of short breaks and city breaks, and they will be using the exhibition to highlight Italy’s cultural attractions, its gastronomy and its historic hotels.
Turin Hotels International (THI) is an international company based in Turin, operating both in Italy and abroad in the luxury hotel and restaurant sector.
The Group is currently experiencing rapid growth, and now includes two prestigious luxury restaurants and 15 hotels in three countries, providing a total of 2,000 rooms. THI’s development strategy has ensured steady growth and has led to great success, not only in terms of turnover, but also as regards employment: the company now has 2,600 staff.
Their growth includes the opening of three new hotels by the end of 2005. These include Turin Garden City Resort, Hurghada, Grand Hotel Torino in the city center of Turin and Grand Hotel Villa Tizzana, an exclusive charming property in the hills near Florence.
“THI’s philosophy is expressed by two fundamental characteristics: its selection of historically and artistically prestigious structures in Italy, and its determination to establish a forceful presence throughout the international hospitality sector with the prestigious “Made in Italy” phenomenon,” said Michele Pani, Vice President Sales & Marketing of Turin Hotels International “We are particularly focused on establishing relationships with the Middle East and believe that ATM is the ideal platform from which to do this”

Editors Note:
THI International is a young hotel company, founded in 1991 by two entrepreneurs. One was the Group's current chairman, Amato Ramondetti, who inherited from his paternal grandfather the Turin Palace Hotel - a historic hotel in Turin with origins dating back to 1872 - and the Ristorante del Cambio from his maternal grandfather, Amato Scavarda, who had owned it for many years. The second founder was Giulio Lera, the present managing director, who inherited the Grand Hotel Sitea, a historic hotel in the centre of Turin. Together they sought to unite these great heirlooms to create a "Collection" of famous Italian luxury hotel names.
Over the years, a number of additions have been made to the Group: the famous Ristorante Savini in Milan, the Excelsior Palace Hotel in Rapallo (the only 5 star deluxe hotel along the Portofino coast), and the hundred-year-old Hotel Europa.
In 1999 the Group launched a large investment programme in Sicily, an island steeped in history, culture and tradition, with the acquisition of the two "pearls" of Sicilian tourism: the San Domenico Palace Hotel in Taormina and the Excelsior Grand Hotel in Catania.
Since the beginning of 2000, some other equally precious "jewels" were added to this glittering crown, each with its own distinctive identity, but all symbols of the unique character, painstaking care, and traditions of hospitality that distinguish the group’s structures: the Locanda del Sant'Uffizio, a charming hotel in the Piedmont region, set against the backdrop of the Monferrato countryside, a region famed for its wine and culinary traditions; and in 2003 the San Clemente Palace in Venice, the most luxurious hotel in the fascinating and unique lagoon city.
From March 2004 other two symbols of the Parthenopean hospitality tradition join THI collection: the legendary Grand Hotel Santa Lucia and the modern Grand Hotel Oriente in Naples.
