Saudi Arabia-Based Information Technology Security Training and Solutions (I(TS)) Brings CISSP Credential to Persian Gulf Region

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - July 18, 2003 (PRN): The International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC)2, the non-profit international leader dedicated to training, qualifying and certifying information security professionals worldwide, today announced a partnership with Information Technology Security Training and Solutions - I(TS)2, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to offer information security training and certification exams to candidates in Saudi Arabia and expand into other Middle East countries over the next year.

(ISC)2 offers the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), considered the Gold Standard of certifications for management-level information security professionals worldwide, and the Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) for cyber security professionals implementing security policy.

"Our goal is to offer information security training and certification to meet the rising global demand for qualified information security professionals," said Dow A. Williamson, CISSP, director of communications for (ISC)2 based in Vienna, Va. "It is (ISC)2’s mission is to ensure that information security personnel worldwide are well-trained, dedicated professionals."

The CISSP credential provides independent and objective validation of professional experience, expertise and knowledge within the information security industry. The certification is acquired through a combination of practical work experience (four years cumulative experience or three years plus a bachelor’s degree), formal education and a rigorous exam based on the CBK, a comprehensive compendium of information security best practices developed and maintained by (ISC)2. According to Samer Omar, vice president of professional services at I(TS)2, his company is focused on providing the Middle East with best-of-class security consulting and solutions.

"We believe that (ISC)2’s CISSP and SSCP certifications offer the professional credentials that are required to meet the information security needs of this region," Omar said. The SSCP is tailored for information systems security practitioners and requires one year of experience in CBK domains. Both certifications require continuing education credits and adherence to a professional Code of Ethics.
