-INDEX and workspace at INDEX Design Talks focus on four key topics relevant to the design and architecture community: Architecture, Interior Design, Project Management, and Hospitality Design & Retailing

Dubai - Held at INDEXInternational Design Exhibition,the largest event for the architect and design industry in the Middle East, and workspace at INDEX, this year's programme of Design Talksfeatures45 speakers across the two shows. The free-to-attend seminars and workshops aimed at the region's architecture, design, retail and hospitalitycommunities covered a wide spectrum of topics relating to the interior design and architecture industry, as part of INDEX and workspace at INDEX which both started on 19th May at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The MENA region's leading trade shows for the residential and commercial interior design sector have hosted over 30 free-to-attend Design Talks sessions covering interior design topics since the show opened on Monday.

International architects and interior design trendsetters headlined the programme and shared their vision and valuable insights with the audience. Ranging from trends for luxury interiors, to how fashion influences design and the importance of illumination, the discussions focused on four main topics: Architecture, Interior Design, Project Management, Hospitality Design & Retailing

INDEX Design Talks has featured speakers including: Matteo Bianchi, Founder and Director, Matteo Bianchi Studio; Oliver Kessler, Designer & Principal, Oliver Kessler Design; Kate Hardcastle, Co-founder, Insight With Passion; Dorian Pauwels, Executive Director, ikonhouse; Khalid Shafar, Founder & Head Designer, KHALID SHAFAR and Tanya Nicholson, Trade Manager, Kansai Plascon.

Design Talks at workspace at INDEX have featured speakers such as: Chris Seymour, Partner & Head of Property UAE, EC Harris; Jan Johnson, VP Design/Workspace Resources, Allsteel and Beatriz Cruz-Megchun, Visiting Assistant Professor, American University of Sharjah.

The Design Talks programme for the last day of the shows - Thursday 22nd May - will feature Dorian Pauwels of ikonhouse discussing the value of craftsmanship as well as BirsenTomar, Byond Design who will look at the history of the Ottoman Empire and its influence when it comes to colours, textures and styles we use in interior design. At workspace at INDEX, Juan Roldan will host New Convex Spaces in Interior Design, looking at the altering attitudes and approach of designers in changing economic situations.

INDEX 2014 and workspace at INDEX are taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The two shows will be open from 11am to 7pm on Thursday, 22nd May - the last day.
