Hewlett-Packard Company today introduced a new offering on large format printers, the HP DesignJet 5500UV Printer, in response to an increased market desire for outdoor printing solutions in 42” and 60”.  
 
The HP DesignJet 5500 UV enables businesses to print in superior quality at higher productivity rates. The UV models are ideal for outdoor printing as they use UV pigment-based inks for enhanced lightfastness. Using HP Thermal Inkjet technology, precision and printing integrity are insured. A six ink, 1200dpi writing capability and HP layering technology provide a wide colour spectrum, continuous tones and smooth colour transitions.
 
  “As professionals become increasingly mobile, more time is spent on the road, which allows greater opportunities for companies to showcase their product offerings in outdoor advertising,” said Thomas Valjak, Category Manager, Imaging and Printing Group, HP Middle East. “Prime billboards require superior UV ink quality and print finishing. In addition to being a convenient desktop printer for corporate office users who infrequently need to print posters and other large documents, HP Designjet 5500UV (42in) is particularly suited to advertising agencies. Further, GIS professionals, architectural, interior design and engineering firms and similar departments within academic institutions, who also require a range of different printing capabilities in their daily work may also produce colour images, office documents, designs or drawings with high line accuracy and quality.
 
The Designjet 5500UV is the latest addition to the Designjet 5500 series printers and builds on the success of the concept of Large Format Printing. The Designjet 5500 series can use dye or pigment-based UV ink to produce stunning looking documents for indoor or long-lasting, fade- and water-resistant outdoor applications. The 5500 series printer offers widest compatibility with existing and new media to be found in the market.
