Quick, reliable scanners make it easy for businesses with paper-heavy workloads to scan and manage multiple documents, completing HP's document management offering
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, 9th May 2006 - HP has launched the HP Scanjet 7800, 8350 and 8390 document scanners, combining fast, automated, multi-page scanning with market-leading software. Small and medium businesses (SMBs) as well as enterprise workgroups can capture and manage large numbers of documents easier than ever before, streamlining their business workflows.
"HP has witnessed strong demand from businesses of all sizes and representing a number of industries throughout the Middle East for more sophisticated document management systems," said Amr Hassan, General Manager, Imaging and Printing Group, HP Middle East. "With a growing number of businesses relying on scanners to organise and manage documents, HP's new scanners provide more document management options for SMBs and enterprise workgroups that are looking to accelerate workflows, reduce the cost of operations and control risk while managing business-critical documents."
The scanners are not only quick - scanning up to 35ppm and 70ipm - they also fully automate scanning tasks, making them perfect for businesses that scan a large number of documents on a daily basis. They come with an automatic feeder that allows 50-100 pages to be scanned unattended and dual scan heads for automatic duplex scanning.
The scanners are shipped with HP's Smart Document Scan Software, an unrivalled software bundle that automates the scanning process, recognises double-feed, and has bar-code recognition and colour drop out. The software will also assign common procedures to a button for ease-of-use.
Also included are Captiva TWAIN and ISIS drivers which ensure compatibility with large-scale content management systems such as Documentum, FileNet and Microsoft SharePoint Portal, so that documents can be easily integrated into electronic workflows without requiring extra software.
