Dubai, February 12th 2007: Watch out for the hottest and fastest moving urban style icon, the Volkswagen Eos coupe-convertible, which will soon be unleashed on the streets around the region.  

Designed for a clientele seeking a real alternative, the four-seater Eos is equipped with a five piece convertible, sliding and coupe roof. With a sporty and contemporary design, the new Eos dares to be different, giving a fresh new definition to the cabriolet-coupe segment which sets itself apart from its peers. 

As a world first, the Eos will be coming with a stunning hardtop dual technology design, boasting a full-width integral glass sunroof, which slides and tilts, making it the perfect choice for the Middle East's climatic extremes. The Eos transforms effortlessly from sporty coup to elegant cabriolet in just 25 seconds, thanks to a unique five piece folding steel roof. Rain or shine, the glass sliding roof captures light, air and a good mood all year round.

Sporting alloy wheels, maximum safety head rests in the front and specially developed head-thorax airbags, the Eos comes with electric windows, fog lights, a leather-lined steering wheel and an Electronic Stabilisation Program (ESP) with steering impulses including comfort brake assistant, ABS, EDS and ASR.  In addition, the Eos has a newly designed sporty-elegant interior with a newly developed cockpit, door, side cover and rear seats, and an automatic air conditioning specifically designed for a convertible. Safety in the Eos is guaranteed through the overall protection system active in just 0.25 seconds.

Under the hood, the Eos boasts Teutonic muscle that propels the coupe way ahead of the crowd, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.3 seconds in V6 form.   The three agile gas engines, which have a performance spectrum from 150 hp to 250 hp, make the Eos not just a comfortable cruiser, but - in the more powerful versions - a superior sports car as well. With a top speed of 247 km/h (for the V6 engine), and a dual-clutch gearbox distributing drive power (DSG) to the front wheels via six forward gears, the Eos is a unique demonstration of the hallmarks of classic German innovation and engineering.
