A comprehensive new FM Radio Station has been completed at Al Hussein Bin Talal University providing Ma'an and the South of Jordan with a new voice.
The studio was designed, commissioned and installed by HEAT for Engineering and Technology, whose projects range from the initial consultancy stages through to system integration and testing.
The station dubbed 'Sawt Al Janub' is set to be an example of a community radio broadcast locally to provide not only a communications service but also bolster the local community participation and provide a new dimension for development. The station, located at the main offices of the Al Hussein Bin Talal University has already begun transmission early, providing locally tailored programming excluding politics and news in accordance with the Audio Visual Commission regulations.
The facility providing the latest in broadcast technology is funded by the British Council in its efforts to encourage sustainable development through empowering communities and the development of local capacity.
HEAT for Engineering and Technology was awarded the project by the British Council; their mission was to design and integrate the facility, providing the latest in Broadcast Technology. The main reasons for this decision are the high system stability of the digital and networking technology, the strong and powerful control and functionality, ease of use and fast operation.
'We are proud to be part of such a project that amalgamates technology, education and local community development, bringing an important communication service to a city like Ma'an, enabling the community to take part in its own development,' said Mr. Omar Hikmat, CEO of HEAT.
HEAT has been a market leader for the past decade in the field of broadcast technology, the Broadcast Systems Integration team has extensive experience in design and installation of powerful, turnkey video and audio communication solutions to cater for all broadcast needs, from small post-production and production studios to large multi-channel broadcasting corporations, working with major corporations such as JRTV, PSD Amen FM, Hayat FM, Play FM and many more.
