Dubai: His Excellency Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence and Deputy Managing Director of the Dubai Future Foundation, highlighted that the UAE can develop skills and capabilities to promote technologies and harness them to build a safe and bright future for next generations. This took place on the sidelines of the KNOW session, presented by Al Olama as part of the 2nd ‘Pioneer Series’ initiative. The initiative is organised by the Dubai Future Academy, an initiative of Dubai Future Foundation, throughout the holy month of Ramadan, at the Academy's headquarters.

The meeting was attended by HE Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Accelerators, and several officials from public and private organisations and departments.

During the meeting, Al Olama reviewed key challenges facing future technologies and the solutions to these challenges, including the challenges facing the development of digital currencies, robots, self-driving cars and fast transport such as the Hyperloop. “In finding solutions to these challenges, we create new sectors and industries that cause a great economic and social return to society and the country. Individuals who find solutions to these challenges around the world are just like you,” said Al Olama.

His Excellency concluded the session with a panel discussion with the audience, where he received their questions and inquiries and shared his experiences in Artificial Intelligence and technological development. He also listened to their experiences in technological development in various sectors.

During the holy month of Ramadan, the ‘Pioneer Series’ hosted a group of VIP speakers, including ministers, officials and specialists in various fields, to share knowledge and promote community awareness through the Future Council, which reviews the various aspects of the future and innovative initiatives. This reflects the vision of the Dubai Future Academy to be an informational forum for Future makers, aiming to equip future leaders with the skills needed to keep abreast of accelerated developments.

The list of speakers included: HE Mariam bint Mohammad Saeed Hareb Al Mehairi, Minister of State for Future Food Security, HE Dr Ahmed Bahloul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Higher Education and Advanced Skills, HE Saeed Mohammad Al Eter Al Dhanhani, the Director General of the Public Diplomacy Office, Cedric Betis, Founder & CEO of Becan Wellness Solutions, Hisham El Araby, MENA Director at Udacity, Ahmed Al Ali, CEO of X Architects, Hisham Al Gurg, Entrepreneur, Hrvoje Cindric, Associate Middle East Urbanism leader at ARUP, Riyad Joucka, Founder/Principal Architect at MEAN – Middle East Architecture Network, in addition to representatives from the Mohammed Bin Rashid Center for Leadership Development, and Dubai Digital Transaction Centre.
