Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, H.H. Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council attended a Ramadan forum organized by the General Secretariat of the Executive Council for Abu Dhabi Government entities and departments employees.

The forum which was held yesterday at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, was attended by HH Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, HH Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Crown Prince Court and an Executive Council Member, and HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs in the presence of their Excellencies, members of the Executive Council and a number of senior officials and representatives from the private sector in the emirate in addition to a large number of more than 1,400 employees.

H.H. Sheikh Hazza was briefed during the forum on the latest developments regarding Abu Dhabi Plan and the details of its journey towards achieving the vision of the emirate consisting in a confident and secure society and a sustainable and competitive economy.

His Highness toured Abu Dhabi Plan exhibition, which highlights the journey of "Development of Abu Dhabi Plan" and its key phases of execution. The digital display screens at the exhibition explain Abu Dhabi Plan objectives  and programs within the current framework of the Plan. The exhibition constitutes an opportunity to learn about the extent of the contribution of Abu Dhabi Plan in the development of the Emirate community and all Government work sectors.

The Abu Dhabi Plan exhibition aims to present the timeline of the Plan and display its targets on digital screens displaying the government entities work and key achievements over the past year. The exhibition also presents the most important projects of Abu Dhabi Plan and what the Plan represents for the various segments of the society through displaying a family story, youth story, and tourists and investors story.

The forum featured a film about Abu Dhabi Plan where three children represented the aspirations of Abu Dhabi for sustainable development and a better future in all sectors of government work.

It is noteworthy that Abu Dhabi Government Employees forum is organized on annual basis by the General Secretariat of the Executive Council in line with the government vision aiming at caring to employees from the social aspect in recognition of their efforts in the development and enhancement of government work.

Abu Dhabi Plan

H.E. Saeed Eid Al Ghafli, Chairman of the Executive Office, said in his opening speech at the Forum, that Abu Dhabi Plan is a leading step on the way to achieve the aspirations of the wise leadership of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan - may God protect him, and the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and follow up of H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, aiming always to improve government work in line with the UAE position, which represents now a model in the field of performance and excellence in the delivery of government services.

He pointed out that leading position of the United Arab Emirates confront us with the responsibility to redouble their efforts to meet the challenges and turn them into opportunities to support the development of our ambitious plans, and where the Abu Dhabi plan comes to constitute a milestone in the development process at the level of Abu Dhabi, the UAE in general.

His Excellency stressed that Abu Dhabi leadership had always planned for the future and set clear visions and objectives: Fifty years ago, the first action plan was developed for the Emirate, upon the first formation of the Abu Dhabi Planning Council in 1966, and set the principles of the journey of the capital of progress and economic diversity, which competes today with the most important capitals around the world, in terms of its advanced infrastructure and quality of services provided to citizens and residents, all within the framework of an institutional system based on innovation and creativity.

His Excellency said: "The excellence of work system, achievement of sustainability, improvement of the government system efficiency, and meeting the current needs and future requirements require continuous review of policies and performance, through the re-structure and facilitation of governmental procedures, achievement of integration by setting regulatory frameworks and mechanisms of government coordination in a way that ensures the optimal exploitation of various resources, and in line with the strategic plans aiming at continuous progress in all circumstances".

His Excellence expressed his thanks to all the employees and urged them to continue working and excelling in performance as the government work is an integral unit where work shall be performed in line with Abu Dhabi vision. His Excellency stressed that the progress achieved by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in various fields requires all employees to work efficiently and effectively to maintain these achievements and base on the same in the journey towards comprehensive development".

About the Abu Dhabi Plan

Abu Dhabi Plan is a reflection of the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace, as it represents a strategic blueprint designed to guide the growth and development of Abu Dhabi. This Plan developed in cooperation with 65 government entities in Abu Dhabi has 25 key objectives divided into five sectors of government work, i.e. Social development sector, economic development sector, infrastructure and environment sector, security, justice and safety sector, and the government affairs sector so as to ensure the continuous development of Abu Dhabi.

These objectives are to be achieved through a series of 83 programs and projects, continuously monitored and evaluated based on performance indicators and periodic reports, in order to ensure smooth progress in the implementation of Abu Dhabi Plan, so as the Emirate significantly benefits from the same.

Abu Dhabi Plan, which is considered the translation and updating of the policy agenda of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, aims to achieve the vision of Abu Dhabi by adopting the long-term government objectives and associated programs as well as the key indicators to monitor the achievement of these objectives at the government level in general so as to ensure that the Plan covers all government work activities and fields.
