Lamisil is an antifungal medication which, unlike other products is not only fungistatic (stops fungal growth) but it is fungicidal (kills fungus). The fungus survives in warm, moist areas, and feet are the perfect place for it to thrive, causing Athlete's Foot. It often likes to grow between the toes causing a rash, itch and a burning feeling. Lamisil comes in 2 dosage forms: cream and spray. Lamisil 15 ml Spray, another of many Lamisil dosage forms is conveniently used once daily, effectively for one week and provides long term protection from re-infection.
Take good care of your feet. Her are a few tips:
- Check your feet every day in case of a serious painless problem like cuts, sores, red spots, swelling, and infected toenails.
- Wash your feet every day in luke warm water and do not soak for long periods to prevent dryness. Dry your feet well.
- Smooth corns and calluses gently and do use razor blades or cut corns and calluses. Check with your doctor or foot care specialist about the best way to care for them.
- Trim your toenails each week or when needed with clippers and smooth them with an emery board or nail file. Don't cut into the corners of the toenail.
- Keep blood flowing to your feet. Put your feet up when you are sitting and wiggle your toes for 5 minutes, 2 or 3 times a day. Don't cross your legs for long periods of time.
- Don't wear tight socks and make sure you wear proper and comfortable shoes.
Be more active. Exercise and make sure you wear athletic shoes that fit well and provide good support.
