Saudi Arabia: Grundfos, the world’s largest pump manufacturer and global trendsetter in water solutions, has been selected through their Saudi Arabian office to provide the complex high-performance pressure boosting systems needed for the new Zamzam pumping station at the King Abdullah expansion Grand Mosque in Mecca.
Grundfos will employ its extensive experience to serve the new station project in order to provide holy water for millions of Umrah performers, pilgrims and worshipers at the Holy Haram, and contribute to achieving the Kingdom's 2030 vision related to raising the capacity of the Holy Haram, and ensuring water procurement efficiency in a way that does not affect the quality of services provided to Mecca visitors.
“We are honored to be part of this vital project that touches the lives of Muslims across the globe at the place that is most dear to their hearts. We are committed to delivering this project to the highest global standards to ensure top levels of efficiency, which meant manufacturing every single part, from the pumps themselves to the system control panel, in high grade components.” Abdulaziz Daghestani General Manager Grundfos Saudi Arabia stated.
The new station consists of 25 special high performance Grundfos Hydro MPC booster sets in parallel with several Grundfos high pressure pumps, all of which are made of stainless steel to maintain cleanliness of water, protect it from pollution, reduce the need for maintenance and extend the life of the system, while at the same time greatly reducing energy consumption.
The complex arrangement of energy-saving variable speed drives and smart communication technology will be able to provide Zamzam water supplies through a widely fluctuating demand range between 700 thousand and 2 million liters per day. These numbers are at the highest peak of this range during the holy seasons; such as Ramadan and Haj season.
Under the wise leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince, the leaders of the G20 countries recently supported the goals of sustainable development and the fight against climate change approved by the United Nations. Grundfos has been keen to apply global standards in relation to global sustainability by launching pioneering technologies aimed at improving the level of Human life and preservation of the environment.
Grundfos is a global leader in advanced pump solutions and trendsetter in water technologies.
