Sharjah, The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) reiterated its commitment to advancing private sector support and elevating the performance of Sectoral Business Groups operating under its umbrella.
The Chamber continues to develop innovative initiatives and integrated services that enable private sector representatives to expand and develop their businesses amid global economic challenges. It also highlighted its focus on strengthening the competitiveness of Sharjah’s business environment by fostering a conducive investment ecosystem that supports company growth and expansion, while reinforcing Sharjah’s position as a leading regional destination for business and investment.
The statement was made during SCCI’s 17th regular meeting, held at its headquarters and chaired by H.E. Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI. The meeting was attended by H.E. Sheikh Majid Faisal Khalid Al Qasemi, First Vice Chairman; H.E. Waleed AbdelRahman BuKhatir, Second Vice Chairman; and SCCI board members.
Also present were H.E. Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director-General of SCCI; Maryam Saif Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General for Support Services Sector at SCCI; and Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General for Communication and Business Sector at SCCI, in addition to several officials representing the Chamber’s departments and affiliated entities.
The meeting reviewed key proposals addressing the current challenges facing the private sector, with a focus on implementing targeted incentive measures to ensure business continuity and sustainability.
It also included an assessment of the performance of the Sharjah Chamber and its affiliated entities, highlighting key metrics and achievements delivered under the first-quarter operational plan, as part of ongoing efforts to sustain business growth and strengthen economic activity.
H.E. Abdallah Sultan Al Owais praised the leadership of the Emirate of Sharjah for its commitment to enhancing business sustainability and developing an attractive investment environment. He emphasised the Chamber’s commitment to strengthening its role in supporting the business community and enabling private sector growth and competitiveness across key economic sectors.
Al Owais further directed all departments to leverage the Sharjah Chamber’s partnerships with government entities to ensure effective representation of business interests, proactively identify sector challenges, and develop practical solutions. He commended the continuous support provided by government institutions in sustaining business operations and supporting the private sector.
The meeting also reviewed SCCI’s strategic plans to advance key business sectors by capitalising on Sharjah’s diverse competitive advantages. It highlighted initiatives aimed at strengthening sectoral business groups through improved performance standards, enhanced service quality, and the introduction of innovative programmes.
Furthermore, the Chamber emphasised the importance of maintaining regular meetings and performance reviews of Sectoral Business Groups to ensure operational effectiveness and alignment with broader economic development objectives, supporting continued growth in the emirate.
