GlobeMed Iraq held its first annual gathering ceremony at the Babylon Hotel in the Iraqi capital Baghdad. The ceremony was attended by a representative of the Minister of Health and other official representatives as well as heads of governmental institutions, unions, federations, and associations and most of the private and public insurance companies operating in Iraq. The ceremony was also attended by doctors representing several healthcare providers from hospitals, laboratories, pharmacies and others.
The ceremony highlighted the efforts of all related parties in developing the health insurance sector in Iraq. GlobeMed Iraq cooperates with most Iraqi insurance companies to support this sector by improving the management of the healthcare benefits in the country.
In the opening speech, the President of the Iraqi Association of Insurance Companies Mr. Walid Jassim Hammoud, emphasized on the importance of health insurance to the society and the necessity to mandate health insurance in Iraq.
Mr. Samir Nahas, the Managing Director of GlobeMed Iraq, explained the benefits of health insurance and its positive impact on the insured members. He also presented some successful models implemented by many organizations and governments in the field of health insurance in neighboring countries.
Mr. Wael Costanteen, Deputy General Manager of GlobeMed Iraq, presented the latest services and solutions provided by GlobeMed Iraq in cooperation with GlobeMed Group, to its clients and their insured in Iraq. He further revealed the GlobeMed Iraq’s vision for 2019 with expansion plans covering Basra, Erbil and Karbala in parallel with the company growing portfolio, as well as the expansion of its network of healthcare providers to include all the Iraqi territories. In addition to the launch of GlobeMed new mobile app, GlobeMed Fit, which will be the first self-service tool for the management of health insurance in Iraq.
In line with the company vision, GlobeMed Iraq will launch the first 24/7 customer care center in Iraq using the latest technologies, and the GlobeMed Academy to raise the health insurance awareness in the country. The ceremony was concluded with a dinner at the Babylon Hotel.
