The Middle East Regional Development Enterprises (MEREN) announced today that it has successfully launched its enterprise resource planning system. The system utilizes Microsoft's Great Plains and Horizon's light manufacturing system, and was implemented by Estarta Solutions, a leading regional provider of software solutions.

MEREN owns a Silica processing plant in Jordan, designed to manufacture different grades of glass sand, silica flour and oil and gas fracturing sand. The plant has an installed annual capacity of 530,000 tons. The recently adopted customized solution implemented and deployed by Estarta Solutions, will help in efficiently planning and closely managing resources across the plant's departments.

"We needed a solution which has the flexibility and adaptability to fulfill our requirements and help us in managing our business" stated Dr. Hassan Saket, GM and CEO of MEREN. And about MEREN's choice for this customized solutions, Dr. Saket added "we felt that this solution meets with our requirements to consolidate our financial and resources information, thus allowing more informed business decisions."

Estarta Solutions implemented a customized ERP solution, which integrates between Microsoft's renowned Great Plains and Horizon's Light Manufacturing system, allowing a single view of consolidated departmental information.

This solution addresses the plant's needs for automating its processes. It also provides solid ground for migrating and enhancing the factory's existing process system to a reliable and scalable solution. Estarta Solutions' consultants worked closely with MEREN's management and the plant's staff to assess and enhance available processes. The result of these efforts translated into a successful process migration endeavor.

"Our approach revolves around understanding our client's needs and requirements. In MEREN's case, we wanted to automate processes that best represent their business based on our consulting findings, using the most suitable software available in the market" said Ennis Rimawi, Estarta Solutions CEO.

The enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution provides small and mid-size businesses with the ability to efficiently plan human and physical resources. Microsoft's Great Plains ERP system provides a single point of access to required information for upper management through its specialized modules, such as the financial series, the supply chain management series and the Microsoft business portal for Great Plains. These modules were designed to integrate amongst each other, thus providing reliable service and support at an affordable price.

"Estarta team has demonstrated high quality of management and professional technical competence. We are confident that this project will be exemplary in our country, and will help our business grow" commented Dr. Saket.

"MEREN will soon realize high ROI as it continues to rely on the efficiency provided by Great Plain's implemented series. As business users notice the convenience of using the system, the management will stay tuned to up-to-date information and reports," says Zeid Shubeilat, Microsoft- Jordan Country Manager.
