Abu Dhabi, UAE (14 December 2011) - Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA) has conferred SuperPipe International (SPI) with the prestigious Emirates Quality Mark or EQM. The distinction mark was granted to SuperPipe 2+, the company's latest generation of multi-layer composite pipes, certifying that product meets the approved UAE standards and that its production system meets other requirements set by ESMA.

SPI is a leading producer of pipes in the Middle East and Western Asia. Using high-speed modern German machines, the company produces millions of meters of pipe every year.

Congratulating SPI on the award, Eng Mohammed Saleh Badri, Acting Director General, ESMA said: "We are pleased to award the EQM mark to SuperPipe International. This mark is only issued to products that comply with the approved standards, which in turn, gives consumers the confidence in the products that carry this mark. We congratulate SuperPipe International for this another major achievement and we look forward to enhancing consumers' trust and confidence in UAE products with companies such as yours."

Commenting on the recognition, Mr. Mehrdad Yousefi, Managing Director of Superpipe International, said: "Every day 40 kilometers of SuperPipe is installed in different projects from residential complexes to governmental buildings and from airports to stadiums. Every single day tens of kilometers of our production is used for sanitary hot and cold water systems, radiator connection, under floor heating or industrial applications in many major projects.

SPI is a leading producer of multi-layer composite pipes and brass fittings. Its factory was inaugurated in 1997 and it formally entered the market in 1998 with 18 staff. Now, SPI employs more than 180 people, and runs an Integrated Management System (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS18001) certified by TUV-Nord. It is also certified for ISO 10004 for customer satisfaction.

Its SuperPipe 2+ is a modern pipe, which combines the benefits of both metal and plastic pipes. The lifespan of over 50 years with maximum 95°C temperature and 10 bars pressure rate ensures a virtually maintenance free installation.
The quality of this dependable plumbing system is monitored by third party organizations and is certificated and approved by KIWA, KOMO, WRAS, BHRC, ISIRI, SKZ and ESMA.
