Dubai - UAE January 22, 2008: Emirates Extruded Polystyrene (EEP), a joint venture company of Dubai Investments and Farha Brothers of Cloisall Co. LLC, has announced that it has been recently awarded the ISO 9001:2000 quality certification by the Bureau Veritas Management System, following a thorough assessment of EEP's quality management system.
EEP's polystyrene sheets are manufactured according to the highest quality standards, ensuring excellent performance in all type of construction projects. EEP manufactures extruded polystyrene sheets (XPS) under the brand name E-FOAM, whose main application is for Thermal insulation, anti-impact material and major construction elements. Other EEP brands are E-Roof, E-Wall and E-Floor.
Mr. Shukri Al Muhairi, Director of EEP and General Manager of Dubai Investments Industries said: "Obtaining the ISO certification within months of commencement of commercial production is indeed a significant achievement for EEP, and this reaffirms the emphasis we lay on quality and excellence across our processes. EEP, one of the major producers of extruded polystyrene insulation board materials in the UAE, commenced commercial production from September 2007. With strong growth prospects, EEP aims to offer a diversified product range in near future for which adequate production facilities are being added under the supervision of our dedicated and highly qualified technical and commercial staff.
Extruded polystyrene is the most common insulation material, and is produced from a combination of polystyrene granules with chemical additives. The product is environment friendly as all residual matter from the manufacturing process is recycled with the original raw materials, resulting in zero wastage. With the Dubai Municipality laws enforcing the use of energy saving and environment friendly building materials in the construction industry, it is now mandatory to use extruded polystyrene sheets for the insulation of roofs, walls and foundations.
ISO 9001:2000 is an international quality system management focusing on meeting customer quality and applicable regulatory requirements, enhancing customer satisfaction and continuous improvement in business performance.
