Over 1000 employees - participates in the biggest emergency preparedness and response exercise
Dubai, UAE, 17 March 2011: du in the biggest display of emergency preparedness and response, recently conducted an "Emergency Evacuation, Safety and Response Drill" mobilising more than 1000 of its employees at its Al Salam Tower head office in Dubai Media City. The exercise was conducted in cooperation with Dubai Civil Defence, Dubai Police, Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services and TECOM.
The company has dedicated emergency coordinators in each team, and they are trained to be the point of contact for employees in any emergency. As part of the exercise, du employees at the 45 stories tower took the stairs to reach the ground floor led by the emergency coordinators. Prior to the "Emergency Drill", employees were briefed to ensure a smooth and safe exercise.
Fahad Al Hassawi, Chief Human Resources and Shared Services Officer, du, thanked Dubai Civil Defence, Dubai Police, Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services and TECOM for their support which made the exercise a success and said: The safety of our employees is paramount.
These exercises, conducted by our Health, Safety, Security and Environment Department ensure that best emergency procedures and contingency measures are implemented for employee safety and emergency response, and this is a practical exercise on all the safety instructions available for employees on the intranet".
