Jamal Al Jarwan is new General Manager for ELIPS

EMPOWER-LOGSTOR joint venture maintains its position as the largest manufacturer of pre-insulated pipes in the UAE

Dubai, UAE, 27th June, 2010: Mr. Ahmad Bin Shafar, the Chairman of ELIPS has said that ELIPS, a joint venture between Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (EMPOWER) and LOGSTOR, the world's largest manufacturer of pre-insulated pipes, has started its operations and is capturing a significant market share by providing insulated pipes designed to build district cooling networks and for oil and gas usage.Bin Shafar said that the ELIPS factory had enhanced a leading position for itself by catering to the industrial needs of Gulf region. Bin Shafar added: "The largest manufacturer of pre-insulated pipes in the UAE provides a golden opportunity for district cooling and oil and gas companies to acquire fair-priced pre-insulated pipes that are on par with international standards."

Bin Shafar and as part of ELIPS expansion plans in the GCC region, has announced the appointment of Mr. Jamal Al Jarwan as ELIPS General Manager based in ELIPS head office in Jebel Ali.

Commenting on this appointment, Bin Shafar added: "The ELIPS factory offers job opportunities for a wide range of UAE nationals competences, from operators to highly skilled engineers within sale, engineering and production technologies. We are pleased to appoint Mr. Jamal Al Jarwan for this position. Al Jarwan has over 15 years of working experience, holding different positions, from senior managerial positions, CEO as well as serving as a Board Member in the district cooling affiliated bodies. His experience encompasses sectors like district cooling, real estate investment and project management. He is regarded as one of the pioneers in introducing the concept of district cooling into the UAE and GCC markets.  

Al Jarwan is an active member of The International District Energy Association Westborough, MA in the United States.

Al Jarwan was Board Member and Chief Executive Officer at United Cool - Abu Dhabi. His responsibilities involved with start up of the Company, development of new business, overseeing day to day operations and setting strategy and vision.

Earlier, he was the Area Manager for Dubai & Northern Emirates and Business Development Director for National Central Cooling Co (Tabreed).

Jamal holds a Master Degree (MBA) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from U.S.A.

Bin Shafar added: "Part of Al Jarwan job will be to ensure timely delivery and installation of pipe networks to ELIPS clients from oil and gas and district cooling companies."

ELIPS is one of 10 factories worldwide partially owned by LOGSTOR.
