Bakery driver becomes an icon among friends after his AED 100,000 win with Postcard Millionaire

Sustained faith gains ABU Dhabi grocery store owner his win

A brand new AED 200,000 quarterly draw to be held on the 3rd of January

Dubai: Sooraj Poozhithara and Siddegu Kathchalil from Kerela India have a reason to smile as they usher in 2007 after becoming AED 100,000 richer following the 11th and 12th draw of the Postcard Millionaire Campaign.

"I have become a hero in my community," said a beaming Sooraj Poozhithara, basking in the aftermath of his recent brush with destiny. The eleventh winner of AED 100,000 during the third edition of the Postcard Millionaire campaign said it was a great feeling and that he still cannot believe it!

"When I received the information, I just couldn't contain my excitement and immediately called my wife who lives in Kerela. I also broke the news to my very close friend who is a salesman and before I knew, the whole community in Abu Dhabi was abuzz with the news and I was getting congratulatory calls from everyone! I was a superstar!" said Sooraj, who is currently working as a driver for a bakery in Abu Dhabi. 

When asked what he will do with his recent gains, Sooraj said, "I have two daughters and I want to secure my family's future. I want to use this gift from God judiciously and start a small business of my own here in Abu Dhabi. This land has given me a lot and I want to give back to it in my own small way. I have not yet thought of what business but I do know that it will be in Abu Dhabi"

The 33-year-old UAE resident from Kerala India, winning number 8157561596 was drawn by Mr. Laxmi Narayanan, UAE Exchange Branch Manager, during the 11th draw of the Postcard Millionaire campaign, which was held at the UAE Exchange Center in Bur Dubai.

"We have always wanted to win big! Not just for ourselves but because we wanted to help our aging parents and the less unfortunate people," said an excited Mrs Kathchalil who had accompanied her husband Siddegu Kathchalil winner of draw 12 of the Postcard Millionaire campaign. "We had decided that we will continue to buy till we become winners of the weekly draw," said the joyous lady. It was the 20th buy, which finally gained the beaming couple their big moment.   

Siddegu, a 36-year-old grocer in Abu Dhabi has been residing in the UAE for the last 15 years. He intends to use his windfall to expand his grocery business and support the elderly and orphaned children in Mumbai, India. "We regularly contribute money to the less unfortunate, with this windfall we will be able to widen our contributions. I will like to share my win with my relatives as well" said Siddegu.

Siddegu's winning number 3696349568 was drawn by Postmaster Mr. Ali Budebis, during the 12th draw of the Postcard Millionaire campaign, which was held at the Satwa Post Office.

In order to bring even more cheers to the customers in 2007, Postcard Millionaire will roll out of the quarterly draws of AED 200,000.The first quarterly draw will be held on January 3rd 2007.

Residents from all over the UAE and visitors have a chance to win a total of AED30 million during the third edition of the Postcard Millionaire campaign, with the purchase of an AED30 Postcard Millionaire pack. Participants are eligible for entry into one weekly draw for AED100, 000 and into the upcoming quarterly draw for AED200, 000.

In addition to the weekly and quarterly draws, winning opportunities are also available through instant scratch and win prizes, which include instant cash of up to AED 5,000, gift coupons and vouchers.
