Doha, 16th June 2010, Qatar International Environment Protection Expo showcasing technologies, products and sustainable energy was announced today in a press conference held at Sharq Hotel. ecoQ, will take place at the Doha Exhibitions Center from 17 to 19 of September 2011 occupying a space of 10,000 sqm and organised by Stallion Advertising and Exhibitions.
The press conference was attended by Dr. Saif Al Hajari, Vice Chairperson, Qatar Foundation, head of Friends of the Environment Center, and Haitham Shehab, General Manager of Stallion Advertising and Exhibitions.
ecoQ is planned to attract international organisations and companies covering various environment sectors such as renewable energy, recycling, waste management, solar systems, marine environment protection, energy-saving products, e-waste technology, green buildings, environmental consultancy firms and others.
Commenting on the announcement, Dr. Saif Al Hajari stressed that protecting the environment and adopting alternative clean and sustainable energy resources is part of Qatar's vision towards the future. He also highlighted the Environmental challenges that face the world and the Middle East in particular. "It is important to increase the environment awareness among communities, individuals as well as the business sector to encourage initiatives and efforts that aim to achieve sustainable development". "We are witnessing sincere efforts in Qatar towards developing alternative sustainable resources of energy and protecting the environment." he added.
Haitham Shehab, general manager of the organizing company, Stallion, said: "The Climate Change Summit which held in Copenhagen last year sent a strong and clear message not only about the environmental damages, but also a 'call' to coordinate efforts in order to face this challenge. ecoQ will reflect on that by presenting the latest technologies, products, sustainable energy that help in protecting the environment to business and institutions in Qatar". "Also we will activate targeted Social Responsibility events and campaigns - to be announced soon - in parallel with ecoQ to increase awareness of environment conservation in the community. ecoQ team will work with international events management and marketing companies, and we will invite a number of NGOs to participate in the exhibition."
ecoQ exhibition will attract international organizations and companies specialized in environment technologies and sustainable energy through planning road shows and participation in different global and regional events. Environment standards will be applied in organising the exhibition.
