UAE, 01 November 2010 - H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, awarded the prestigious Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum (MRM) Business Award to Dubai Oil Mills, the flagship unit of Al Ghurair Foods at a ceremony organized by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce (DCC) held on the 31st of October 2010 at the Madinat Jumeirah Hotel in Dubai.

The MRM Business award in the Manufacturing category, which was received by Al Ghurair Foods Chairman Essa Al Ghurair complements the company's outstanding business performance; strategic programs, initiatives and achievements, which were the main criteria used in judging this year's awards.

Engaged in the extraction and marketing of quality Soybean and Canola edible oils and protein rich animal feed by-products, Dubai Oil Mills has put UAE on the map as one of the major Soybean and Canola oil supplier to the world. With a capacity to crush 4500 tons of soybeans or 3000 tons of canola per day, it is the largest and the most modern crushing facility in the Middle East. 

Essa Al Ghurair, Chairman, believes such gestures in the form of such prestigious awards from the UAE Government acts as a catalyst for growth and contributes to the overall performance of the industry.
