Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Dubai CommerCity (DCC), the first dedicated e-commerce free zone in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia (MENASA) region, has signed partnership agreements with Magento Commerce, Adobe Inc, a leading e-commerce software provider and Redbox Digital, a global digital consultancy and platinum Magento implementation partner. Focused on offering ‘E-Commerce as-a-Service’, the collaboration will provide Dubai CommerCity customers with tailored access to e-commerce solutions and services that will enhance digital experiences and brand growth.

Dubai CommerCity is the first free zone dedicated to e-commerce in the MENA region and is strategically intended to accelerate the growth of registered companies by providing digital services that facilitate operations. The partnership announcement came during the 40th GITEX Technology Week, where the free zone is demonstrating the growing opportunities available to e-commerce companies within the MENASA region and highlighting how Dubai CommerCity is boosting the growth of the regional e-commerce industry through strategic collaborations.

Amna Lootah, Assistant Director General, DAFZA, Board Member, Dubai CommerCity said: “Dubai CommerCity will play a key role in transforming the e-commerce sector in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia. The e-commerce retail market in the Middle East & Africa is expected to grow by 20% to reach USD 26 billion in 2022, which outpaces the global growth of 13%. The GCC is also expected to contribute 43% of MEA’s e-commerce retail market by 2022[1],”

“The strategic agreements with Magento and Redbox complement our efforts to grow and enhance the portfolio of services that Dubai CommerCity will provide. The partnerships will drive the role of Dubai CommerCity as a leader of innovation, digitalization and strategic alliances and support the future of e-commerce. Under the umbrella of the two agreements, customers will be able to explore growth opportunities through benefiting from the unique services and integrated systems provided by Dubai CommerCity.” Ms. Lootah added.

E-commerce needs vary from one company to another, as such, customers will be provided with start-up, B2B, B2C and cross-industry solutions that have been exclusively designed for Dubai CommerCity to accelerate e-commerce adoption times. ‘E-commerce-as-a-Service’ offerings include special rates on key Magento software, pre-integration with payment gateways, third party logistics systems, marketing affiliates and analytics tools. A wide range of project services including consultancy, discovery and requirements, building, testing major and minor customizations will also be provided by Redbox.

Sarmad Hassan, Country Manager at Redbox, said: "The Middle East has been experiencing considerable e-commerce growth and unique initiatives like Dubai CommerCity only serve to fuel this boom by providing investment opportunities for retailers across the region. Over the years, we have helped many global and local brands digitally transform their businesses. We are excited and honored to be partnering with Dubai CommerCity in supporting its vision of making Dubai a leading hub for e-commerce and innovation."

The agreement will enable Dubai CommerCity to further enhance its offerings by leveraging consultancy, system integrations, support and development capabilities offered by Redbox. The free zone is actively working to bolster Dubai’s position as a leading hub for international e-commerce, supporting economic diversification and driving smart transformation. The agreement also comes in light of the increasing dependency on digital services as industries are turning to the diverse range of technology platforms at their disposal during this period.

Situated on an area of 2.1 million square feet in Umm Ramool, right next to DXB International airport, Dubai CommerCity is an AED 3.2 billion project and the first e-commerce free zone dedicated to the growing e-commerce market in the MENASA region. The free zone provides advanced opportunities for global and regional manufacturers, as well as distributors and global e-retailers while offering a vast array of tax and investment incentives. Divided into three main clusters - business, logistics and social, Dubai CommerCity seeks to encourage customers to adopt an active approach while doing business, meet the needs of logistics services providers and customers and offer vibrant facilities that exceed the expectations of E-commerce companies looking to establish regional headquarters in Dubai.
