Forum will be attended by HRH Princess Astrid and over 200 delegates
Dubai - The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry is organisingthe UAE-Belgium Business Forum at The H Hotel on Thursday, March 26 on the side-lines of a strong Belgian economic delegation headed by HRH Princess Astrid, Representative of H.H. The King of the Belgians, during their visit to the UAE.
The forum, organised in cooperation with the Embassy of Belgium in the UAE,comes as part of Dubai Chamber's efforts to enhance bilateral and trade relations and to explore two-way investment across key economic sectors including food industry, transport and logistics, aviation, tourism and trade for Dubai and Belgium businesses.
During the forum, participants will be able to identify potential areas of opportunities and the frameworks which drive growth and contribute to a favourable business environment, whilst networking with key industry peers.
Additionally, Dubai Chamber will be signing two Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with theFederation of Belgian Chambers of Commerce, Arab-Belgium-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce and Brussels Enterprises Commerce & Industry as well as another MoU with the Voka-AntwerpenWaasland Chamber of Commerce.
The forum will have a welcome remark by H.E. Hisham Al Shirawi, 2nd Vice-Chairman, Dubai Chamber, a keynote address by H.E. Pieter De Crem, Federal Secretary of State for Foreign Trade, Belgium, and presentations on Business Opportunities in Belgium by Johan Beerlandt, Chairman, the Arab-Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce and CEO of Besixand one byDubai Chamber on Dubai Economy: Prospects & Outlook.
The Belgian ministers attending the forum include H.E. DidierReynders, Federal Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs,H.E. Philippe Muyters, Flemish Minister for Work, Economics, Innovation and Sports, and H.E. Cecile Jodogne, Secretary of State for Foreign Trade & Investment for the Brussels-Capital Region and Minister of the French Community Commission in charge of Civil Service and Health Policy as well as UAE government officials and representatives of private sector companies.
Earlier in 2012, a Dubai Chamber delegation visited the Belgian capital Brussels and held constructive talks with top officials of the Federation of Belgian Chambers of Commerce and Industry including Antwerp-Waasland Chamber of Commerce and Industry and West-Flanders Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and discussed cooperation in the areas of certificates of origin and ATA Carnets as well as investment opportunities in diamonds, ICT and renewable energy sectors.
