Dubai, U.A.E - A specialist cardiologist from Dubai Hospital has been invited to take part in the EuroPCR Congress 'Live Centre' session in Paris.
Dr Talib K Majwal, Director of Interventional Cardiology at Dubai Heart Center, Dubai Hospital will perform two of the most critical cardiac procedures live through a webcast to the congress in Paris on Wednesday 26th May 2010. The cases will be performed on the latest state of the art Philips Allura Xper FD 10/10 catherization lab system, equipped with interventional tools.
"We have a very high and consistent success rate, and now, we are the only centre outside Europe that has been selected to be a part of the live case sessions at EuroPCR. Majority of our cases are urgent and usually need immediate open heart surgery, but our centre offers angioplasty, a much less invasive procedure - with the patient going back to normal life within two to three days of the procedure," said Dr Majwal.
Diederik Zeven, Senior Director and General Manager of Philips Healthcare in the Middle East added, "The Philips Allura Xper FD 10/10 cathlab system will enable doctors to treat patients faster and safer, as well as improve clinical outcomes."
The live transmission of the first procedure labeled the 'Unprotected Left Main' will begin at 12:30pm from Room One at Dubai Hospital and aired live to the main arena of the EuroPCR live centre.
The next procedure titled 'Complex Patient' will begin at 3.30pm and aired at the plenary room during the Learning and Techniques Session on Bifurcation.
